Belinda Carlisle: Rare Photos & Untold Crazy Life Story

Belinda Carlisle, lead singer of The Go-Go’s, faced intense personal struggles despite her public success. Her recent memoir reveals a 30-year battle with cocaine addiction, stemming from a tumultuous childhood marked by an abusive father and a troubled home life. These early traumas haunted her throughout her career, even as The Go-Go’s became one of the most successful all-female bands of the 1980s.

Despite their groundbreaking success, The Go-Go’s disbanded in 1985 due to personal conflicts and drug abuse. Though they reunited several times, tensions persisted, and they played their final concert in 2022. Belinda continued her solo career, producing hits like “Heaven Is a Place on Earth,” but her struggle with addiction and an eating disorder cast a shadow over her life.

Thankfully, Belinda has been sober since 2005 and is now focused on her family, having celebrated 38 years of marriage with film producer Morgan Mason. She remains an icon, using her experiences to inspire others to overcome addiction.
