Johnny Joey Jones, a former US Marine, has a story that rivals any Hollywood script. Raised in Dalton, Georgia, Jones enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school, finding his calling as an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) technician. Inspired by the bravery of EOD specialists in Iraq, Jones dedicated himself to this dangerous role.
On August 6, 2010, Jones’s life changed forever when he stepped on an IED in Afghanistan, losing both legs above the knee and suffering severe arm injuries. Despite this, he showed remarkable resilience, undergoing intense rehabilitation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. His mental fortitude proved to be his greatest asset, driving him to overcome physical challenges and pursue further education at Georgetown University.
In 2019, Jones joined Fox News as a contributor, expanding his role to cover a wide range of topics beyond Veteran Affairs. His unique life experiences and ability to articulate complex issues made him a valuable voice on the network. Jones also hosts “Fox Nation Outdoors” and frequently substitutes on popular programs like “Fox & Friends.”
Beyond his media career, Jones is a dedicated advocate for veterans, serving on the board of the Boot Campaign and working with the Warrior Bonfire Program. He uses his platform to raise awareness about veterans’ issues and inspire others with his message of perseverance and positivity. Every year, Jones celebrates his “alive day,” marking the anniversary of his life-changing injury as a testament to his resilience and renewed purpose.
